How to cancel an insurance booking that has amendments
Last updated: September 14, 2026
An amendment such as an extension has its own cancellation request and refund outcome. You can cancel an amendment on its own, but to cancel the base policy you must first submit a cancellation request for every issued amendment. A withdrawn amendment request does not count toward that requirement.
An amendment, such as an extension, has its own cancellation request and its own refund outcome. Cancelling one does not cancel the other.
To cancel only an amendment
Select that amendment in the cancellation form. The base policy remains active when the amendment's cancellation is confirmed.
To cancel the base policy
First submit a cancellation request for every issued amendment. Once those requests exist, the base policy becomes available for its own request.
You do not need to wait for every amendment refund to finish before submitting the base-policy request. However, a Withdrawn amendment request does not count toward this requirement.
Track each request separately
The base policy and its amendments can be at different stages. Check each request on its own.
Draft bookings
Draft bookings can be deleted directly. They do not need a cancellation request.
If a request already exists for the part you want to cancel, open that request and continue from its current status.
