Setting product start dates, availability, and eligibility

Start dates, availability, and eligibility control when a product can be added to a proposal and who can buy it. Set specific start dates, define repeating patterns, or inherit a campus's calendar; set an available period to limit when the product can be sold; set course start dates via the School Calendar or custom patterns; and restrict eligibility by student nationality, current location, or age. These settings apply to programs, accommodations, and any other duration-based product.

Start dates control when a student can begin. Availability controls the window when the product is offered. Product start dates and availability

What it is

Every product has two date settings:

• Start dates — when a student is allowed to begin.
• Availability — the period during which the product is offered at all.

You set both from the product's tabs.

Why it matters

• A student can only be added to a proposal for a valid start date.
• Availability stops the product from being added to a proposal outside the period it runs.

Start date options

Choose one of four options:

• Use campus default — follow the campus calendar.
• Specific dates — enter set dates (DD-MM-YYYY or MM-YYYY).
• Repeating — every X weeks, months, or years.
• No start date — for products that can start any time.

Availability options

• Always available — no time limit.
• Set available date period — a start and end date for when the product is offered.

How they work together

• The start date is when a student can begin.
• The availability period is the window in which they can attend.
• A student's chosen dates must fit inside both.

Tips and common issues

• If a start date is missing from a proposal, check the start-date option and the availability period.
• "No start date" is useful for services and add-ons that are not tied to a term.

Course start dates

Course start dates determine when students can begin a course. Two options.

Steps

Start dates > Edit.

Choose: Use School Calendar (if previously configured) or Enter Custom Start Dates.

Pattern of dates

Set recurring start dates by:

• Days of the month, or
• Days of the week.

Example. Available every Monday.

Manual start dates

Manually select specific available dates from a calendar.

When to use which

• School Calendar. When the same start dates apply across multiple courses.
• Custom pattern. When start dates follow a regular cadence specific to this course.
• Manual. When start dates are irregular or one-off.

Product eligibility

Eligibility rules control who can see, add to a proposal, and book a product. This article explains the three criteria — nationality, current location, and age — and how they work together. It applies to programs, accommodation, and other products.

What it is

Eligibility rules limit a product to certain students. You set them from the product's tabs. A student sees the product only if they match every rule you set.

Why it matters

• Students only see products they qualify for.
• Agents avoid adding products a student cannot take to a proposal.

The three criteria

• Student nationality — restrict to certain nationalities.
• Student current location — Onshore (already in the country) or Offshore (still abroad).
• Student age — an exact age, or a minimum and maximum.

How they work together

• A product shows only if the student matches all the criteria you set.
• Criteria you leave unset do not filter anyone out.
• Edvisor checks the student's profile and search criteria automatically.

Tips and common issues

• If a product is missing for a student, check whether an eligibility rule is filtering it out.
• Leave a criterion unset if you do not want it to restrict anyone.
