How to set product start dates and availability
Last updated: May 7, 2026
Start dates and availability control when a product can be quoted and used. Set specific start dates, define repeating patterns, or inherit a campus's calendar; set an available period to limit when the product can be sold. These settings apply to programs, accommodations, and any other duration-based product.

Start dates
Start dates define when the product can begin. You have four options:
- Use Campus Default — follow the start dates configured in the school calendar. Only available if the product is linked to a campus you manage.
- Specific dates — enter one or more dates manually. You can use exact dates (DD/MM/YYYY) or a month (MM/YYYY) when the exact day varies year to year — common for higher education.
- Repeating dates — set the date to repeat every X weeks, months, or years. Useful for rolling intakes.
- No start date — leave start dates empty. Edvisor will ask for a start date at quote time and accept any date the user enters.
Available period
Available period limits when the product is available. For duration-based products such as programs and accommodation, students must start and end their booking within the product’s set available period.
- Always available — no restrictions.
- Set available date period — students must start and end their booking within the product’s set available period.
Use this for seasonal products (e.g. summer programs) or to phase out a product without deleting it.
How they work together
- Start dates control when the student can start.
- Available period controls when the student can actually attend.
A program might have start dates from April to June, but availability period allows the student to start in June and continue their studies into September.
