How to set product pricing

Last updated: May 7, 2026

Pricing applies to programs, accommodations, and other products on Edvisor. Pick a duration-based or quantity-based pricing model, optionally use a price template to share pricing across products, and your changes flow live to anyone using the product. Pricing is set on the product after the initial save.

You set product pricing in the product editor, after the product itself has been created. The pricing model you pick depends on how the product is sold.

Pricing models

  • Flexible duration — a per-unit price (e.g. $100 per week) the buyer can use for any valid duration. Supports dynamic tiers — e.g. $100/week for 1–4 weeks, $90/week for 5–10 weeks. Common for language courses where students choose their own duration.
  • Fixed duration — specific durations at specific prices (e.g. $400 for 4 weeks, $600 for 8 weeks). Supports different prices per year for multi-year programs (e.g. $2,000 year 1, $1,000 year 2). Common for higher education and training programs.
  • Quantity — a simple per-unit price with no duration. Use it for one-time services and add-ons like airport pickup or registration.

Programs and accommodations are duration-priced. Use Quantity for one-time services.

Currency

Currency is set on the product. For products linked to a campus, currency inherits from the campus. For unlinked products (Self-Managed Inventory), set it yourself.

Price templates

A price template is a saved price configuration you can apply to multiple products. Price templates live at the campus level. Use them when:

  • Several products share the same pricing structure.
  • You want a single edit to update pricing everywhere.

Price templates also support:

  • Expiry dates — a template stops applying after a given date.
  • Transition rules — define what happens when prices change. Useful for honoring older quotes during transitions.

Editing a price template updates every product currently using it. To change pricing on a single product without touching others, edit the price directly on the product instead.
