When you create accommodation, the form asks for fields that programs don't have: Type, Room Type, Bathroom Type, Meal Plan, and Weekly Checkout Date Rule. This page covers what each one is and the available options.

Accommodation has a few fields that programs do not. This article explains each one: Type, Room Type, Bathroom Type, Meal Plan, and the Weekly Checkout Date Rule.

What it is

When you create accommodation, you fill in the standard details plus some fields that are unique to accommodation. These describe the room, the meals, and the checkout rules.

Why it matters

  • Agents and students see exactly what the accommodation offers.
  • The checkout rule makes sure the dates and prices work out correctly.

The fields

  • Type — the kind of accommodation: Homestay, Residence, Hotel, Dormitory, Apartment, or Hostel.
  • Room Type — Shared or Private.
  • Bathroom Type — Shared or Private.
  • Meal Plan — No meals, or 1, 2, or 3 meals a day.
  • Weekly Checkout Date Rule — sets which day the accommodation week ends. Choose either the same day as check-in, or one day early.

Tips and common issues

  • Set the Meal Plan even if it is "No meals", so students know what to expect.
  • The Weekly Checkout Date Rule affects how the length of stay is counted, so pick the one that matches how the provider bills.
