Custom Fields in Student Profile
Last updated: September 28, 2026
Custom fields track information on student profiles beyond the default fields. They are configured per office in Settings → Offices → Custom Fields and appear on every student profile in that office. Fields can be Text, Dropdown, or Date. After saving, the label and dropdown options stay editable but the field type and Field ID lock, and the Field ID is what matches values when a student moves between offices.
Custom fields let you track information on student profiles beyond the default fields. They are set up per office, and any field you add appears on every student profile in that office.
Where to find them
Go to Settings → Offices → Custom Fields. Existing fields are listed with their Type, Label, and ID.
Custom fields belong to one office. To work on another office's fields, switch offices using the office selector in the top bar next to your agency logo — it has a search box and an All Offices option.
The three field types
Text — free text, for example an emergency contact name.
Dropdown — a fixed list of choices you define.
Date — a date picker, for example a passport expiry date.
Add a field
Select Add a Custom field.
Choose a Field Type.
Enter a Field Label. This is the name shown on the student profile.
For a Dropdown, fill in Options. Use Add another option to add more, the bin icon to remove one, and the drag handle to reorder them.
Check the Field ID. It is generated from the label — "Tshirt Size" becomes
tshirt-size. You can edit it before saving.Select Add.
The field appears on every student profile in that office straight away.
Why the Field ID matters
When a student moves between offices, Edvisor matches custom fields by Field ID, not by label. Keep the ID identical across offices that use the same field, or the value will not carry across.
The ID cannot be changed after you save. To use a different one, delete the field and create a new one.
Edit a field
Hover over the field's row and select the pencil icon.
You can change:
The Field Label.
The Options on a Dropdown — rename, reorder, add, or remove them.
You cannot change the Field Type or the Field ID. Both lock once the field is saved.
Select Save.
Reorder your fields
Hover over a row and use the drag handle (the left icon) to move a field up or down the list.
Delete a field
Hover over the field's row and select the bin icon. A confirmation appears warning you that:
Any information recorded in this field will be lost.
Any Web-to-Lead forms set up for this field will stop working.
Deleting cannot be undone. Select Delete to confirm.
