A checkout link is like a special “book now” or “buy now” link you can share with students, so they can purchase a course or program directly.

When someone clicks on the link, it takes them to a simple page where they can choose options (like dates or extras), fill in their info, and make a payment to complete the booking—all in one place.

With the EdCommerce checkout link, students can:

  1. Choose their School and Course: They can pick the exact course, program duration, and start date that interests them.
  2. Add Accommodations and Extras: Optional accommodation or other services are available to add if the student needs.
  3. Fill Out the Reservation Form: Students complete a simple form with their details.
  4. Pay a Deposit: Students secure their booking by paying a deposit, making the reservation official.

This all-in-one link simplifies the quoting and enrollment process, allowing students to complete their reservation in a few simple steps.

Key configurations for a smooth checkout process

The checkout link is designed to simplify online bookings without requiring complex setup. You’ll just need to make sure a few key settings in your EdCommerce platform are correctly configured to ensure a smooth and successful checkout experience.

Here’s a quick checklist of what needs to be done:

1. Set a Custom Domain

We highly recommend using a custom domain (e.g., quote.yourschool.com) to make the checkout page look like an extension of your site, creating a more professional appearance.

2. Customize Your Notification Email Templates

Double-check that your email templates are properly set up to ensure a smooth and complete notification process for each booking process.

3. Select the ‘From’ Email Address for Notifications

Verify which email address is being used to send these notifications.

4. Booking Forms

Configure your booking forms to collect all necessary information from students during the booking process.

5. Create an EdWallet Account

To receive payments through the checkout link, you’ll need an EdWallet account to manage transactions.

6. Deposit Configuration

Lastly, set the required deposit amount for each booking.


How to generate your checkout link

Once you’ve completed the setup, you can easily get your checkout links. This process is straightforward and doesn’t require additional configuration.

Each provider and course in EdCommerce has its own associated checkout link.

This link allows you to direct students straight to the specific program, course, or provider page, making it easy for them to reserve their course.


There are 2 types of checkout links available:

Checkout Link by Campus or School:

This link provides a dedicated checkout page for a specific school or campus, allowing students to browse and select from all the programs and courses it offers.

To get this type of checkout link:

Checkout link - Schools

  1. Go to your EdCommerce Settings > Providers.
  2. Locate the school in your provider list.
  3. Click on the three dots next to the provider’s name.
  4. Select Copy Checkout Link.

Program-specific Checkout Links

This link takes students directly to a specific course page, where they can view available start dates and choose the course duration. It’s ideal for quick bookings when students know exactly which program they want.

To obtain this link:

  1. Go to EdCommerce Settings > Providers.
  2. Locate the school in your provider list and click on the three dots next to the provider’s name.
  3. Select Edit Card to access that school’s programs.
  4. Find the program you’d like to share.
  5. Click on the three dots next to the program and select Copy Checkout Link.

Note: When you first purchase EdCommerce, our team will set it up with your portfolio of schools and providers. If, for any reason, you don’t find a provider in the “Providers” area, you can import them from your Edvisor account by following the steps in this tutorial.

Tips for integrating the checkout link on your website

  • Your Homepage – Make it easy for students to navigate directly to booking as soon as they visit your site.
  • Program or School Pages – Let students enroll right as they’re reading about a specific course or program.

2. Include Checkout Links in Targeted Email Campaigns

Send out links in email campaigns to reach students who have shown interest in your programs. Use the checkout link in different types of emails, such as:

  • Welcome Emails: Include it as a way for new leads to take the next step.
  • Reminder Emails: For students who showed interest but haven’t booked yet.
  • Seasonal or Promotional Campaigns: Encourage sign-ups by adding a direct booking link for limited-time offers or discounts.
