How to preview and share a proposal

Last updated: September 2, 2026

Review and send a finished proposal: add notes, click Preview to see the student's view, then Send. The Preview button now opens the redesigned proposal experience by default, with the previous version available from the dropdown during rollout. After sending, the status changes Draft → Issued and students can view, accept an option, or pay a deposit.

Review and send a finished proposal to a student.

Notes section

Before sharing, add notes for the student:

  • Exchange rate clarifications.
  • Promotion explanations.
  • Custom messages.

Notes display below the proposal options.

Preview the proposal

Click Preview at the top to see exactly what the student will see. Use this to check formatting, branding, and accuracy before sending.

Share with the student

Click the Send button at the top. The student receives:

  • An email notification with a link to the proposal.
  • Access through the Student Portal.

After sending

The proposal status changes from Draft to Issued. Students can view the proposal, accept an option, or pay the deposit if one is included.

Automating the proposal lifecycle

The proposal lifecycle can now drive automations. The available triggers are Proposal Issued (formerly Proposal Published), Proposal Viewed (fires on the student's first open only, never again), Proposal Accepted (fires on the actual transition, so accepting option A and then option B counts as one event), and Proposal expiry date (before, on, or after the expiry day). Use these to nudge a student before a proposal expires, or to follow up when a proposal has been viewed but not accepted.

See How to set up Automations.
