How to automatically assign an offering to quotes
Last updated: July 10, 2026
Automatic assignment adds an offering — accommodation, a program, another product, insurance, or a fee — to quotes on its own, either to every quote or only to quotes that match conditions. You set it from the Assignment column on any offering list or from the offering's edit page. This article covers the Assignment column, the four assignment modes, and the price requirement.
Automatic assignment lets an admin set an offering — accommodation, a program, another product, insurance, or a fee — to be added to quotes automatically, so you don't have to add it by hand every time. You can add it to every quote, or only to quotes that match conditions such as the student's destination country.
The Assignment column
Each offering list (Accommodations, Programs, Other Products, Insurance) has an Assignment column showing how the offering is auto-added:
- All quotes — added to every proposal.
- Conditions — added only to proposals that match a set of conditions.
- Off — not auto-added.
Open the assignment panel
Click the offering's entry in the Assignment column, or open the offering's edit page. Because it works from the edit page, assignment can be set even for offerings you can't otherwise edit. The Automatic assignment panel is where you decide when the offering is added to quotes.
The four modes
- Off — the offering isn't added to any proposals automatically.
- Saved configuration — reuse an existing segment. Pick one from Select a saved configuration, and the offering is added only to proposals for students who match that segment.
- Custom conditions — build a new rule here. Give it a name and add rules (field, operator, value) — the same builder used for segments — to match, for example, by destination country.
- All quotes — the offering is added to every new proposal, with no conditions. You can switch to conditions any time.
Click Save assignment to apply.
The offering needs a price
If the offering has no price set, the panel warns you that it won't be added to quotes even when the assignment matches. Add a price to the offering to make the assignment take effect.
When to use each
- Choose All proposals when something belongs on every proposal, such as a standard agency service or consulting fee.
- Choose Custom conditions (or a Saved configuration) when it depends on the student — for example, attaching the correct insurance product based on the student's destination country, so the right product is on every relevant proposal.
