TW Trip 75: How to request assistance while traveling

TW Trip 75 / TW Trip Study 75 is a travel insurance policy, not health insurance. Coverage, exclusions, and the sum insured are specific to each coverage purchased and are detailed on the policy certificate ("Bilhete").
There are two ways to access covered benefits while traveling.
Authorized service network (recommended)
- Call the toll-free, 24-hour assistance line. The number is printed on the policy certificate ("Bilhete") and is answered in Portuguese.
- The insurer arranges the service directly through its network of authorized medical, hospital, dental, and travel-assistance providers at the destination.
- Using the authorized network avoids paying out of pocket and then requesting reimbursement. The insurer settles directly with the provider, up to the contracted sum insured.
Free choice of provider (pay and request reimbursement)
- If it is not possible to reach the assistance line or use an authorized provider, you (or the beneficiary) may freely choose a legally licensed provider.
- You pay for the service and are then reimbursed for the covered, substantiated expenses, up to the sum insured for that coverage.
- The reimbursed amount must be consistent with market rates for services where the event occurred.
