TW Trip 75: Terms, exclusions, and cancellation
Last updated: August 24, 2026
Sets out the Generali Brasil Seguros general policy conditions that apply on top of the Terrawind TW Trip 75 / TW Trip Study 75 benefits in Brazil: which coverages are mandatory on international trips, the 24:00 start and end rule, and the fact that pre-trip events are not covered. It explains the pre-existing conditions rule including the Medical/Hospital/Dental exception, lists the key exclusions, and covers cancellation rights — the 7 calendar day cooling-off period, pro-rata retention on early return, and the effect of false statements.
In Brazil, TW Trip 75 / TW Trip Study 75 is underwritten by Generali Brasil Seguros (SUSEP Process No. 15414.648189/2023-26). The points below come from the underwriter's general policy conditions and apply on top of the plan benefits.
Coverage start and mandatory coverages
- For international trips, Medical/Hospital/Dental Expenses Abroad and Medical Transport are mandatory coverages and cannot be removed.
- Coverage validity starts and ends at 24:00 (midnight) on the dates shown on the policy.
- Events, symptoms, or accidents that happened before the policy start date are not covered.
Pre-existing conditions
As a general rule, undeclared pre-existing conditions are excluded. The exception is the core Medical/Hospital/Dental expense coverages, which remain covered even if the condition was not declared on the health questionnaire. This is an important point to explain clearly to travelers and agencies.
Key exclusions to flag with travelers
- Elective or routine treatment, and continuation of treatment for a condition or symptom that existed before the trip started.
- Psychological or psychiatric disorders; orthotics and prosthetics; physiotherapy after hospital discharge (unless purchased as an add-on).
- Epidemics or pandemics declared by a competent authority (unless a specific add-on, such as a COVID-19 extension, was purchased).
- Professional or paid/sponsored sports; illegal races; driving without a valid license; traveling against medical advice or ignoring the insurer's instructions (especially repatriation instructions).
- War, terrorism, nuclear material, and natural disasters (narrow humanitarian and military-service exceptions apply).
- Aesthetic, moral, and material damages (the material damage exclusion does not apply to baggage, laptop, and smartphone coverage).
- Losses from visa refusal, and loss of frequent-flyer miles or loyalty points.
Cancellations and right of withdrawal
- Cooling-off period: you can cancel within 7 calendar days of purchase/payment (whichever is later), as long as the trip has not started, for a full refund.
- Cancelling after the trip has started / early return: the insurer keeps the premium proportional to the time elapsed (pro-rata) plus fees, and refunds the remaining balance.
- False statements, undisclosed information, or intentionally increasing the insured risk can result in loss of the right to indemnity.
