How to create a Sale on Edvisor

Last updated: October 23, 2026

You can create a Sale two ways: from a proposal the student has accepted (open the proposal > New Sale > pick the option, name, currency, and payment method), or from scratch from the Sales section (New sale > enter a sale name, currency, payment method, and student, then add products on the Sale profile). Set up the payment plan from the Sale's Payments tab: choose the payment method and provider, then apply a payment plan template. Notes carry over from the proposal. Sales stay in sync with the Student Portal.

You can create a Sale in two ways: from a proposal the student has accepted, or from scratch. Either way, you land on the Sale profile, where you manage documents and payments.

Create a Sale from a proposal

When a student has accepted an option in a proposal, turn that proposal into a Sale:

  1. Open the proposal.
  2. Click New Sale at the top.
  3. Select the program option chosen by the student.
  4. Enter a name/title for the Sale and select a currency.
  5. Choose the payment method and payment provider for the Sale (see Choosing a payment method below).

This opens the Sale profile, with the chosen option already included.

Optional: mark interested first

A student can indicate interest in a proposal option by clicking the heart icon; the selected option is highlighted in green. You can also click the 3-dots icon > Mark as interested manually. This isn't required, but flagging interest makes the option easier to identify when creating the Sale.

Create a Sale from scratch

You don't need a proposal to start a Sale — you can create one directly from the Sales section:

  1. Go to Sales in the left menu.
  2. Click New sale in the top right.
  3. In the Give the new sale a name window, fill in:
  • Sale name
  • Sale currency
  • Payment Method
  • Student — the student this Sale is for.
  1. Click Save.

The Sale profile opens. From there, add the programs, accommodation, insurance, and other products this Sale covers.

Choosing a payment method

You can choose the payment method — and the right payment provider — when you create the Sale, instead of setting it separately later. Your choice carries through to the downstream payment steps.

A few things to know:

  • You can view a payment provider's full details while selecting it.
  • Payment options that don't work for the Sale's currency are hidden, so you only see valid choices.
  • The chosen payment method and its instructions appear on the Sale PDF and in the student's view.

Setting up the payment plan

Open the Sale and go to the Payments tab, then click Create payment plan. In Configure payment plan:

  1. Choose the Payment Method (for example EdWallet, Wire Transfer, Credit Card, Debit Card, Cheque, Digital Payments, or Other) and the Payment provider. Expand Provider details to check the account before you save, or click Edit in Settings to change it.
  2. Under Payment plan template, pick a template to fill in the currency, deposit, and payment schedule for you. See How to build a payment plan template.

The Payments tab shows the Sale total, the amount paid, and the remaining balance, with the payment plan and payment details below.

Notes

You can add notes to a Sale, and pull from your agency's saved-notes library — the same way you do in a proposal. Any notes written on the proposal carry over automatically when it becomes a Sale, so nothing is lost.

What happens next

The Sale profile is accessible from the Sales section. Click a sale in the list to open it, or click the eye icon next to its ID for a quick preview without leaving the list. From the Sale profile, you can:

  • Add notes and share documents with the student.
  • Request and track payments.

Sales stay in sync with the Student Portal.
