Creating and managing promotions
Last updated: October 16, 2026
Creating and managing promotions in Edvisor: create a promotion (Promotions Manager > +Create Promotion — name, description, assigned courses, discount type, requirements, valid time frame, eligible agencies, visibility); the 8 promotion types and discount options; custom (agency-side) promotions and adding them to proposals; layering and duplicating promotions; and verifying a promotion via the agency view.
Promotions add discounts, free duration, or bonuses to courses and offerings.
Creating a promotion
Where to create
Promotions Manager > + Create Promotion.
1. Promotion information
- Promotion Name. Recommended naming: market + year. Example: "2026 LATAM Summer".
- Description. Shown to partner agencies. Summarize the offer.
- Assign Promotion. Select the courses this promotion applies to.
2. Promotion details
Choose from 8 promotion types (see the Promotion types and discount options section below).
3. Promotion requirements
- Nationalities. Which student nationalities can use this promotion.
- Age range. Min and max student age.
- Visa type. Eligible student visa types.
- Student current location. Onshore, offshore, or doesn't matter.
Leave any field blank if it doesn't apply.
4. Valid time frame
- Valid for bookings made. From and until when the promotion can be booked.
- Valid for start dates. From and until when course start dates can fall within.
5. Eligible agencies
- All agencies, or
- By location (region or country), or
- By specific agency name (for exclusive promotions).
Make it visible
Final step: toggle visibility. The promotion is now live for eligible agencies.
Promotion types and discount options
Edvisor supports 8 promotion types.
Discount types
When to use Override Prices
For market-specific pricing where the new price replaces the standard course rate. The promotion isn't "discounting" — it's setting the price for that market.
Combining promotions
Promotions can layer (see the Layering and duplicating promotions section below).
Custom promotions
Custom promotions are agency-created discounts on top of school-provided promotions.
How to create
- Go to Products > Promotions in the right side menu.
- Click + New Promotion.
- Enter:
- Choose discount type:
- Save.
Optional fields
- Internal notes.
- Default language.
- Translations.
Add a promotion to a proposal
Proposals > select proposal > select option > Edit > scroll to Promotions > + Add Promotions > select from list.
The list shows only promotions whose conditions match this specific proposal.
Click the eye icon to apply but hide a promotion on the displayed proposal.
One-proposal-only promotions
Create a promotion specific to a single proposal: Custom Promotions option directly inside the proposal. Won't appear in Products > Promotions.
Manage promotions
Products > Promotions to edit or delete custom promotions.
Layering and duplicating promotions
Layering and duplicating promotions saves time when running multiple similar campaigns.
When to layer promotions
Use when running similar promotions with different conditions, such as:
- Same market, different expiration dates.
- Same discount type, different percentages.
- One core promotion + an additional limited-time bonus on top.
How to duplicate
- Open an existing promotion.
- Click Duplicate.
- The system creates an exact copy.
- Modify the copy with new details (dates, discount values, conditions).
Example
- Existing promotion: 15% off tuition for Brazil, valid until Dec 31.
- New requirement: free registration fee on top of the 15%, valid until Oct 31.
- Solution: duplicate the existing 15% promotion, modify the copy to include the registration fee waiver and shorter expiration.
Verifying a promotion is working
After creating a promotion, verify it shows correctly to partner agencies before going live.
Steps
- Log into the agency view account (separate from the school account). Contact the account manager or support@edvisor.io for credentials.
- Find Courses. This is the same quotation tool agencies use.
- Match the promotion's conditions:
- Search for the school.
- Click Find Courses.
What to look for
- The course should display with a promotional sign or badge.
- The discounted price should match the expected promotion value.
- The promotion description should be visible.
If the promotion isn't appearing
- Verify the conditions match (nationality, age, location).
- Check the valid time frame includes today and the start date.
- Confirm the agency view account's market settings.
