How to create and manage segments

Last updated: July 10, 2026

Segments are saved groups of students defined by rules, such as destination country or program type. You create and manage them in Settings → Recruitment → Segments, and can reuse a segment as the saved configuration when automatically assigning an offering to quotes. This article covers what segments are and how to create, edit, and delete them.

Segments are saved groups of students defined by one or more rules — for example, all students whose destination country is Canada, or everyone on a particular program type. You create a segment once and reuse it to organise your pipeline, target communications, and automatically assign offerings to quotes.

Where to find segments

Go to Settings → Recruitment → Segments. The page lists your existing segments, each with edit and delete controls, and an Add new segment button.

Create a segment

  1. Click Add new segment.
  2. Enter a Segment Name.
  3. Under Rules, click Add Rule and build a condition:
  4. Add more rules with Add Rule to narrow the segment further. A student is included when they match the rules.
  5. Click Save. Save stays disabled until the segment has a name and at least one complete rule.

Edit or delete a segment

From the Segments list, use the pencil icon to edit a segment's name or rules, or the trash icon to delete it.

Where segments are used

A saved segment can be reused as a Saved configuration when you set up automatic assignment on an offering, so the offering is only added to quotes for students who match the segment.
