How to register student payments correctly
Last updated: May 6, 2026
How students should register EdWallet payments correctly: no typos in reference number, fast network for card payments, save page URL, country must match residence, high-res proof of payment, upload only to matching link. Companies paying need full business registration + sponsorship document.
Guidance for students paying through an EdWallet payment request — to avoid delays and rejections.
Filling out the payment form
- Double-check reference number and Payer details for typos, extra spaces, or symbols.
- Use a fast, secure network connection.
- For card payments: don't refresh or reload the page during submission — it disrupts the connection.
- Save the payment page URL as a reference. Helps resolve disputes or delays much faster.
Bank transfer payments
- Register the payment as soon as possible.
- Have the proof of payment document ready to upload.
- Speed of registration is the largest factor in processing times.
Country restrictions
- Student payments can only be made from the same country as the student's residence (home address).
Proof of payment requirements
- High-resolution and clearly readable.
- Must show: account info, transaction date, identification numbers.
- Optionally include CURP, CLABE, Tax ID, or similar tax/ID documents if requested.
Critical rules
- Upload proof only to the link matching the payment request. Mismatching causes significant delays.
- Don't send money without a payment registration link. It will fail compliance.
- Send a copy of proof to the agency or Edvisor representative as an extra precaution.
Payments by a company on behalf of a student
Provide:
- Full business name and country of incorporation.
- Official business registration document (ownership confirmation).
- Supporting document: email, sponsorship letter, contract, or agreement.
