How to Build a Proposal
Last updated: May 6, 2026
How to build and send proposals: create from search, template, or custom course. Add products, payment plans, deposits. Send interactive proposals students can adjust. Convert accepted proposals to sales.
Proposals are how you present program options to your students. Build a professional, branded quote in minutes.
Creating a Proposal
Three ways to start:
- From Search — select programs from search results and click Create Proposal. Each program becomes an option.
- From Custom Course — for programs not on Edvisor, enter the details manually.
- From Template — save any proposal as a template and reuse it with different students.
Every proposal needs at least one program in each option.
What's in a Proposal
Each proposal includes:
- Student — who the proposal is for
- Options — one or more study plans, each with programs, accommodation, insurance, and services
- Language — the language the student sees the proposal in
- Currency — the currency shown to the student
- Notes — any message displayed to the student
- Due date — optional deadline for the student to respond
Adding Products to an Option
Each option can include programs, accommodation, insurance, and other services. Prices are calculated automatically using live pricing from the school. When you edit an option, prices refresh to the latest rates.
Payment Plans
You can add a payment plan to any option:
- Split by total — divide the total into equal installments. You can adjust amounts and add due dates.
- Split by item — assign specific products to each installment (e.g., application fee first, tuition later).
If you have EdWallet enabled, you can set a deposit amount that the student pays online to confirm.
Sending to the Student
When you mark a proposal as Issued, the student receives it. They see an interactive view where they can adjust dates and duration with prices updating live. They choose an option to accept.
What Happens After Acceptance
When a student accepts an option, you can convert it to a Sale to start collecting payment and documents.
