Edvisor OSHC Student Insurance Recommendations

To comply with Australia's minimum student visa requirements and regulations, Edvisor will automatically recommend the correct OSHC (Overseas Student Health Cover) product according to course duration and migration regulations

  • When the student’s destination is Australia, regulation recommendations for OSHC products will be provided by default

  • OSHC recommendations will reflect not only course duration but also visa extension requirements, ensuring minimum compliance requirements

  • However, agents are able to override or manually extend OSHC duration when packaging multiple courses

OSHC Regulation as per Course Duration

To meet compliance, the following rules are applied when adding insurance to quotes, sales and bookings:

  • 10 months or longer, ending Jan–Oct: Visa is required for 2 months longer than the course → OSHC must cover course length + 2 months.

  • Less than 10 months: Visa is required to be 1 month longer than the course → OSHC must cover course length + 1 month.

  • Maximum duration: Student visa can not exceed 6 years in total duration.
