How to set up Custom Spread

Last updated: May 6, 2026

Custom Spread setup: 3 options. (1) Account manager sets default. (2) Per payment link via FX Option at amount step. (3) Direct override on Quote/Sale (carries to Sale, requires Settings > Teams > Permissions > Payment).

Three ways to configure Custom Spread on EdWallet.

Option 1: Default spread (set once for all payments)

  • Contact the Edvisor account manager to request a default spread (e.g. 0.3%).
  • Applied automatically to every student payment across all Edvisor platforms.

Option 2: Per payment link (adjust per transaction)

  1. Go to EdWallet > Create a Student Payment Link.
  2. Fill in the required details.
  3. On the final amount screen, select FX Option > custom spread.
  4. Applied only to that specific transaction.

Option 3: Directly on Edvisor (Quote or Sale)

Override the default spread directly when working on a Quote or Sale.

  • Enter desired value (e.g. 0.4%).
  • Only users with the proper permission can edit the spread.
  • Important. Override applies to that transaction only. The default spread can only be changed in EdWallet (Option 1).
  • If override is set on a Quote, it carries over when the Quote becomes a Sale.
  • If no override is set in Edvisor, the EdWallet default applies.

Enabling the permission
