Allianz Care OSHC: waiting periods and transfers

Allianz Care OSHC waiting periods: 12 months for pre-existing (2 months psychiatric). Transfers from another OSHC fund require clearance certificate; prior cover period counts toward waiting periods.
Pre-existing conditions waiting period
- 12 months from arrival in Australia or student visa grant date (whichever is later).
- 2 months for pre-existing psychiatric conditions.
What counts as pre-existing
An ailment, illness, or condition with signs or symptoms (per medical practitioner opinion) in the 6 months before:
- Arrival in Australia, or
- Student visa grant date (whichever is later).
Includes secondary or related conditions arising directly from a pre-existing condition. Includes conditions present but not yet diagnosed at arrival or visa grant.
Transferring from another OSHC fund
Members transferring from another OSHC fund must:
- Provide documentary proof of cover period with the previous fund.
- Obtain a clearance certificate from the current OSHC fund.
Allianz Care will count the prior cover period when assessing pre-existing condition waiting periods.
